St. George Utah Area Information

The city of St. George in Utah is well endowed with low and mild humidity winters and has more than 300 sunny days in a year. It is for this reason why St. George Utah is listed as one of the best places to live in all over the United States and they are even on the list of Fortune 500’s Great Places to Retire In.

Furthermore, they have been listed by CNN Money as one of the 100 Best Places to Live In and is part of HGTV’s list of 10 Places Where Americans are Moving. All these recognitions are enough proof that St. George is indeed a great place to settle in.

Location

St. George is situated in the southwest corner of Utah, right on the Interstate 15. St. George, which is the county seat, is considered as the county’s largest city having more than 65,000 residents. The population of the entire Washington County is more than 140,000 and is continuously increasing.

The city is nestled right in the picturesque valley that is surrounded with impressive sandstone cliffs. The backdrop of the city is so beautiful, with blue skies and clean air surrounding the area, and features a business environment that attracts more than two million international visitors each year.

Desert Climate

The city’s desert climate has an elevation of 2,760 feet, offers year round leisure and recreation activities that includes 10 golf courses. The County of Washington which is where St. George is located is said to be among the fastest developing counties all over Utah and is expected to continuously grow even in the future.

The scenic areas all over St. George also provide an easy access to some of the major markets in the Western United States. It has become a major destination point for several people and businesses that are looking for a much better life and a fruitful atmosphere to grow and prosper.

Mild Weather

The entire city of St. George enjoys a mild weather with beautiful scenic areas, as well as a progressive atmosphere. It also boasts of a well-educated and work-oriented workforce and indeed, it is the city where you get to enjoy a great quality of life.

The Washington County also fulfills your business needs. It is a highly developed city without the heavy traffic and crowded conditions, and has a very low crime rate.

The City of St. George is organized in a council manager type of government. As of 2014, their city mayor is John Pike while the city manager is Gary Esplin. The city council meetings are often held every first and third Thursday of the month at the City Council Chambers.

The Dixie Regional Medical Center is the hospital in St. George that offers basic emergency services for all residents in the city, including the areas of southern Utah, the Northwest areas of Arizona and the southeastern areas of Nevada.
