Sunset on the Square

This is a free movie out on the grass that’s gained so much popularity because of the fun family friendly environment. At the Town Square in St George they set up a huge projector and you are able to bring blankets and the whole family to watch a movie. This months movie is Wreck it Ralph.

The movie is shown on a giant outdoor movie screen, and they even have vendors for face painting, games, food and some water balloon challenges. The movie begins at dusk but all of the other entertainment and fun begins at 5 pm at Town Square Park, 175 E. 200 North, St. George.

Signal Peak Hike in Pine Valley

If you’re looking for a way to get out of the heat, then take a short drive up to Pine Valley Saturday morning where there’s a group all hiking to Signal Peak in the Pine Valley Mountains. Which is one of the best most picturesque peaks in all of southern Utah. They’re meeting at the Forsyth Trail Head in Pine Valley around 8 am. This is an 11 mile round trip hike with some significant up hill, so come prepared with plenty of water and a lunch.

Pow Wow at Pipe Springs National Monument

If it’s culture and history you’re after then head a little east to Pipe Springs National Monument. There’s a pow wow going on there this weekend that is sure to entertain. The event kicks off Saturday at 6:30 am with a fun run. The the Pow-Wow contest will be going on from 1 pm to 5 pm on Saturday and then again from 11am to 5pm on Sunday. There’s also a free dinner that is on Saturday from 5-7 pm.

Washington County Fair

Arguably one of the bigger events that goes on in Southern Utah, the Washington County Fair is going on right now. The events list is so long we could never hit it all, so if you’re interested head over to their website for a list of all the events (washcofair.net).
