Sunbrook Golf Course Review in St. George Utah

by: admin

Sunbrook Black Rock Golf CourseSunbrook Golf Course is one of the most interesting courses to play in Southwestern Utah, and for good reason.  There are a total of three 9 hole course to choose from, so one can come back again and again without playing the same 18 holes all the time. St. George vacation rentals is the perfect place to stay should you want to play the Sunbrook course.  Green Valley Resort is just down the street – it’s a quick drive to to Sunbrook.

Since its creation approximately 15 years ago the course has gotten rave reviews from many golfers, and it was even awarded a four and a half star rating by Golf Digest.  What really makes Sunbrook Golf Course stand out are not only the fantastic views that one gets on practically every hole on the course, but the variety of challenges that one faces as well.  It can be a bit monotonous playing a golf course that has tree lines fairways on every hole.  At Sunbrook Golf Course the same cannot be said, as every 9 hole course has just the right combination of water, sand, and trees to really make it an enjoyable experience.  Did I forget to mention about the lava rock as well?

The three 9 hole courses (The Point, The Woodbridge, Black Rock) are named after their most important features.  The Point has a golf hole that borders a desert cliff, the Woodbridge has…wait for it… a wood bridge surprisingly enough, and Black Rock has some golf holes that were actually carved out of lava rock, which is really neat to play on.  Each course averages around 3,200 yards from the gold tees and has their own unique set of challenges to face. sunbrook golf course vista

All three courses are in fantastic shape, whether it is the tee boxes, fairways, or greens.  I especially liked the greens, in that they were too fast or too slow but just the right amount of speed.  The best hole in my opinion has to be the par 4 fourth hole at The Woodbridge.  It features an elevated tee box with a shot going into an island green.  It seems very reminiscent of the 17th hole at TPX Sawgrass, and at 187 yards from the gold tees, it is a great example of how Sunbrook Golf Course combines great scenic views with challenging golf for a fantastic experience overall.

We played all 27 holes at Sunbrook and loved it, each 9 is unique unto itself, and for avid golfers, that is a plus… very surprised at the quality from a municipal course, and extremely reasonable and convenient, compared to Sand Hollow and Coral Canyon…. Cant wait to play it again….
